EXHIBITION "IMAGINE JAPAN" | 2014
Scenography in collaboration with Patrick Burnier & Anna Jones from Curious Space (UK)
Covering a 150 years period (1864-2014), this exhibition focuses on our relationship to images and the enduring fascination with Japan. Starting with a classical display of the rich collection of images that Aimé Humbert brought back from Japan in 1964, the exhibition continues with a playful analysis of how he used this material in his famous book "Le Japon Illustré" (1870). The final space brings us back to our time with various staged examples of contemporary swiss groups/individuals and their ongoing strong relationship to japanese culture.
